For each piece listed later on this page, answer the following questions.
- Is the meter duple or triple? Can you hum tonic?
- Does the piece modulate?
- Is the composition binary, ternary or rounded binary? (Listen for repetition.) Diagram the piece, e.g. A B A'.
- How long is each section? (How many measures?) Indicate the length of each section as a subscript, e.g. A8 B6 A'8.
- The entire piece begins and ends on tonic. Determine whether the sections begin or end on tonic, dominant or the relative major. Add roman numerals to your diagram, e.g.
