On the day of the performance,

Before performing,
  • Remember that this is only one step of your journey as a musician.
  • Eat a banana.
  • Take a brisk walk.
Just before you begin,
  • Remember that this performance is not as important as many other things in your life.
  • Imagine you are performing only for those who don’t make you nervous.
  • Take a deep breath.
While performing,
  • Focus on the music, not yourself.
  • Remember, in a few minutes, you will be done.
