  • Beef Roast, Potatoes and Carrots — my favorite solar oven meal (my mom's conventional oven recipe)
  • Lemon Pepper Chicken
  • Stew — cook the meat, then add the rest
  • Chili — the hamburger cooks for two hours and then other ingredients are added
  • Soups
  • Lasagna
  • Brats, Hot Dogs, Polish Sausage — easy
  • Left-overs
Grains
  • Cornbread — for the chili
  • Couscous — surface darkens a bit, but good
  • Malt-o-Meal, Cream of Wheat, Steel-cut, and Rolled Oats — add raisins or fruit
  • Rice (white, brown, basmati) — sticks together, but good
  • Bulgur Wheat — used to make tabouli
  • Damper Bread — a simple Australian recipe my daughter likes
Vegetables
  • Potatoes — scrub whole potatoes and cook in about ½ inch of water
  • Beets
  • Carrots — a bit discolored, but good
  • Frozen Vegetables — easy to overcook
  • Corn on the Cob — cook about half husked cobs
Dessert
  • Baked Apples
  • Crazy Cake — a chocolate cake from scratch
