Diatonic Figures Dictation — Examples for Practice Theory ThingsWilliam Wieland
Diatonic Figures — C major

In the examples that follow, a cadence pattern initially establishes the key,
  1. you sing tonic,
  2. the piano plays,
  3. you sing with the “choir”,
  4. the piano plays again,
  5. you sing again, and finally
  6. you write solfege syllables.
(The high note indicates which question is next by how often it is struck. Each example includes 5 questions.)
